What’s in a word

I love words and often find they are the first starting point in making work. Sometimes I include text or words in my work. In exploring Sandscale Haws in the Lakes in Cumbria I came across The Red Hut just on the edge of the beach, made from weathering steel.

It was designed by Konishi Gaffney, Edinburgh based architects, to resemble a ‘ramshackle miner’s hut’ replacing a former ice cream shop. It includes shutters designed by Martin Boyce, a Turner Prize winner.

Most intriguing of all is the word on the side. Food for thought………………..
